Change the world. Start here!
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with Northwestern University's award-winning Civic Education Project (CEP) to provide high quality service, learning, and networking opportunities exclusively for JKC Higher Education Scholars, including alumni. The Foundation is delighted to offer these CivicWeekends in response to requests from Scholars for networking and civic engagement opportunities. Not a Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar? See CEP's other spring and summer programs. About Jack Kent Cooke CivicWeekends: Each program will provide a group of 15-25 Scholars with a full weekend of housing, meals, on-site transportation, volunteer service projects, team-building, and academic reflection, all facilitated by CEP's expert staff. Each program is open to JKC Higher Education Scholars, including alumni, in each of the corresponding metro regions (The Foundation will also support Scholars' spouses and adult partners as space in each program permits). Participants must provide their own transportation to and from the program.
Spring 2008 Programs:The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and the Civic Education project will offer two CivicWeekend programs exclusively for Jack Kent Cooke Higher Ed Scholars and Alumni.
Jack Kent Cooke Higher Ed Scholars and Alumni are called upon to be strong in character and leadership, and to contribute some of their considerable talents towards improving the lives of others. CivicWeekends are a great way to get started, stay connected with similarly motivated peers, and to learn more about how you can help make the world a better place. Program tuition and related expenses will be covered by the Foundation. However, space in each program is limited, so be sure to register early! Interested in other opportunities? The Civic Education Project hires staff to help run our programs for middle- and high-school aged students in the spring and summer. More information is available on our jobs page.
