Step 1: Prepare Application Materials



Civic Leadership Institute Summer 2009 programs have concluded.
Information remains posted below for your reference.
Check back in January for updated Civic Leadership Institute Summer 2010 application information
or contact us to receive materials by mail.


A complete application consists of the following:
  • Application for Admission. You may apply online, download the 2009 CTY CLI Catalog and Application or request a catalog and application by e-mail       (Links have been disabled - please check back in January to apply to Summer 2010 programs.)
    • To apply for CTY CLI using the downloaded version of the application, please enter the following information on Part VI (page 2) of the CTY Summer Application:
      • For CTY CLI in Baltimore:
        Course Code = LEAD; Site Code = PBD; Session = 1; Course Title = Civic Leadership Institute
      • For CTY CLI in San Francisco:
        Course Code = LEAD; Site Code = SFU; Session = 2; Course Title = Civic Leadership Institute
  • Student Essay, approximately 250 words, conceived of and written by the applicant, describing his/her reasons for wanting to attend the CTY Civic Leadership Institute and what he/she hopes to gain from participation in the program
  • CTY Talent Search SAT I score or equivalent nationally-normed standardized achievement test score
  • Application Fee & Tuition Deposit
  • Financial Aid Application (if applicable), including all supporting documentation
    • Students applying for Financial Aid should not apply online. Instead, they should submit a hard copy of their CTY Summer Application along with their Financial Aid Application

Regular registration to the CTY Civic Leadership Institute closes on April 4, 2009. Late applications will be accepted and considered as space in the programs permit. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and space is limited, so students are encouraged to apply early to increase their chances of being accepted into the program.
