Civic Education Project (CEP) programs will challenge you to see the world differently, think critically about today’s social issues and impact society in a positive way, all while having fun with new friends in an exciting and fascinating city.

Participation in CEP programs can also enable you to:
  • develop useful knowledge, experience and leadership skills;
  • earn academic credit and/or service hours;
  • enhance your college applications; and
  • empower you to pursue a lifetime of active, engaged citizenship, changing people’s lives for the better every day.

Growing up, Laura considered herself “a shy kid.” Now a junior at Brown University, she is helping to edit a book of essays encouraging intergenerational communication. The Civic Education Project, she says, helped her find her voice, and she has been helping others do the same ever since.

Danika, an alumna of multiple CivicWeek trips, claims that the Civic Education Project (CEP) “lit the fire” under her to become a teacher. She is now in her 3rd year teaching math at Lakeview High School within the Chicago Public Schools.
