Welcome to Center for Talent Development

The Center for Talent Development (CTD) at Northwestern University is dedicated to helping gifted children, age 4 through grade 12, reach full potential. We provide research-based assessment, advanced academic programs and resources to enhance a child's schooling. Our signature approach to talent development delivers personalized options and guidance. Program pathways lead students on a journey of intellectual, emotional and social growth. By extending support to families and educators, we help exceptional students discover their unique voice, explore opportunities, cultivate a love of learning and become bold, creative achievers and contributors.
 
Our Programs

NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY'S MIDWEST ACADEMIC TALENT SEARCH (NUMATS)
(Grades 3 through 9)
A research-validated assessment utilizing above-grade-level tests (ACT®, SAT® and EXPLORE®) to identify academic strengths and provide tailored resources
SUMMER PROGRAM (Age 4 through grade 12)
Rigorous enrichment and credit courses with life-changing impact that allow gifted students to delve deep into an area of interest, build upon their strengths and connect with a community of peers
WEEKEND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS (Age 4 through grade 9)
Opportunities for challenge and hands-on discovery that allow gifted students to explore a subject of interest and strength. A wide variety of advanced and unique courses range in duration from a single weekend to eight consecutive Saturdays.
GIFTED LEARNINGLINKS (Age 5 through grade 12)
Online enrichment, honors and AP® courses that encourage learning whenever and wherever students wish
CIVIC EDUCATION PROJECT (Grades 7 through 12)
Promotes leadership and civic engagement by connecting service-learning with academic study and reflection. Bright, impassioned students engage with social issues first hand and develop skills to change the world.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS
EDUCATOR & PARENT PROGRAMS
Workshops, conferences and seminars that inform parents and school personnel about the needs of gifted learners and empower them to meet the needs successfully
