Students

They log in from coast to coast to participate in writers workshops. They engage in virtual science labs from computers on three continents. They complete assignments while in school, on vacation, or at home – wherever they are, whenever they want. Who are they? Gifted LearningLinks students.

In the 2007-2008 academic year, Gifted LearningLinks (GLL) enrolled more than 1,000 academically talented students in kindergarten through grade 12 from across the country and around the world. One might think, given the online nature of our courses, that GLL classmates are just names on a roster. On the contrary, they are like-minded peers who, through advanced technology, can discuss course assignments, work on collaborative projects, attend real-time class sessions and become friends.

Gifted LearningLinks students are smart, motivated and keenly interested in the subject matter of the classes they choose. They enjoy the chance to learn at their own pace, and they thrive under the tutelage of outstanding GLL instructors and the support of classmates who share their interests and abilities.

Students participate in Gifted LearningLinks for myriad reasons. They may seek to…
  • explore a topic of interest with instruction from an expert in the field;
  • supplement a school’s course offerings;
  • complement a homeschool curriculum;
  • solve scheduling conflicts;
  • prepare for AP® exams;
  • challenge themselves and build independent study skills essential for later learning, college and life.

Regardless of their purposes for enrolling, the outcome of participation is the same: learning, and the deep satisfaction that accompanies newly acquired knowledge, skill and confidence.
