Gifted LearningLinks (GLL) enrichment courses allow students in grades 3 through 8 to explore English & writing, humanities & social studies, foreign languages, science, math, and technology courses commensurate with their abilities. These courses include substantial and engaging activities that encourage students to acquire information and develop higher-level thinking skills.
GLL Enrichment courses are based on a flexible cohort model, allowing students to have meaningful opportunities to interact not only with their instructors, but also with other gifted classmates (i.e., their cohort). Students participate in online discussions, work on collaborative projects and/or attend real-time class sessions with like-minded peers. Instructors make every effort to schedule real-time class sessions around busy schedules. When attendance is not possible, students can access recordings of real-time class sessions anytime after they occur.
Many GLL Enrichment courses comprise part of a course series running the entire academic year (i.e., fall, winter and spring sessions). For most courses, there are no prerequisites; students may enroll in any one session – or all three sessions – in a series.
Beginning on June 15, the summer session affords students the opportunity to take a class that they may have missed earlier in the year.
