Course Transfers
Requests for transfers from one course to another or to another start date must be made in writing and either e-mailed or mailed to GLL. There will be a $25 fee to enact any of the following changes.  This fee is not applicable to students who are not accepted for their requested start date due to lack of documentation supporting their application or to students who apply too late to be accepted for their requested start date.

Enrichment and Core Essentials Courses: Requests for a transfer to another course within the same term must be made no later than one week after the beginning of the course session and made with the understanding that it is the student's responsibility to catch up in the new course.  No course extensions will be granted for enrichment courses.  If a student wishes to transfer to the next session (fall, winter or spring), this request must be made before two weeks have elapsed from the start date of the course.

Credit-Bearing Courses:  Requests to postpone a start date or to change to a different course must be made prior to the 21st day of instruction.  When postponing the start date, the student and the instructor are to confer and reach an agreement as to which month the student will re-start the course and what, if any, previous assignments will need to be re-submitted.  Students who wish to change their course must meet the prerequisites for the new course and indicate in which month they wish to start.  They also must apply for the new course.  Note: Once a course transfer is made, refunds will not be given.

Course Extensions
Students taking one-credit honors elective courses have up to 18 weeks to complete their coursework.  Students enrolled in two-credit honors and AP courses have up to nine months from their official start date (the 15th of the month) to complete their course(s).  Requests for extensions are granted on an individual basis with the approval of the instructor and the Gifted LearningLinks staff.  These requests must be written and submitted to GLL via e-mail or USPS mail.

A $75 fee is assessed for each month of an extension.  The maximum allowable extension for a course is three consecutive months beyond the end date.  Course extensions are not available for family or enrichment courses, nor for extracurricular clubs.  For EPGY, please read "Course Continuation".

Accelerated Summer Option (ASO) Course Transfers
Students participating in an ASO course who are unable to complete their coursework in nine-weeks may revert to the 18-week or nine-month option, respectively with the approval of the instructor and GLL staff.  Requests must be made in writing by August 3, 2011 or two weeks before the ASO end date.  A $75 processing fee is required to revert to the nine-month option.

Refunds and Withdrawals
Center for Talent Development (CTD) will refund Gifted LearningLinks tuition if you withdraw your child, in writing, prior to the official start date of the course.

Notes:
  • All requests for refunds and/or withdrawals must be made in writing and either e-mailed or mailed to Center for Talent Development.
  • CTD will refund the full cost of tuition, less the non-refundable $60 application fee, to students who withdraw before the official start date of the course (the 15th of the month).
  • CTD will retain the $60 non-refundable application fee and refund 50% of the remaining tuition to students who withdraw before the end of the third week (21 days following the official start date of the 15th of the month).
  • Extracurricular Club participants who withdraw before the 21st day of the club will be refunded $60, the balance of $35 will be retained by CTD.
  • No refunds will be granted after the 21st day following the official start date. The 21 days includes the orientation week.
  • No refunds will be given to students dismissed for disciplinary reasons.
  • Refund processing takes about six weeks from the time a written request is received by CTD.

EPGY Tuition
The Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY) course fee is $560 per course, per three-month quarter for K through 12 courses and range between $650 and $850 for university credit courses. The fee for Expository Writing courses is $685 per course. Fees include tuition and registration. Full payment for the first quarter of study is due at the time of application.

Notes:
  • Students are notified via e-mail when their quarter of study is ending. At that time, students who have not completed their course may elect to continue it for an additional payment of $175 per month.
  • Upon completing an EPGY course, students may proceed to the next level of study. If this occurs before the end of the quarter, students pay only a $35 fee, payable to Center for Talent Development, to begin the new course. If students proceed to the next level at the start of a new quarter, the full fee of $560 is charged.
