What is Gifted LearningLinks Enrichment Level?

Gifted LearningLinks Enrichment (LLE) offers enriching and challenging courses for 4th through 6th graders. Teachers who are experts in their fields design these courses and work with students via Blackboard CourseInfo. Courses begin September 1, February 1, and June 1, and each is three months in length.

Before the session begins, students receive textboxes containing start-up information, textbooks and course materials. Students are expected to follow the course syllabus and complete the assigned activities. Instructors monitor student progress, review assignments and help students who are having difficulty. Parental involvement is encouraged. Teachers are available to help students and parents by phone and email.

Computer Requirements

Courses use Blackboard CourseInfo; students enrolling in these courses must have regular access to either Internet Explorer (v.4 or above) or Netscape Navigator (v. 4 or above) with a browser that must be both Java- and cookies- enabled. Course assignments, and notes are available through a Web page, and students can communicate with the instructor and, in some cases, with other students electronically. Please call our office for more information.

Course Materials

Students receive a textbox containing the course syllabus, assignments and deadlines, as well as all books and materials needed to conduct experiments or complete projects.

Time Commitment

Students are expected to spend 1-1.5 hours per week working on class assignments. Parents are encouraged to work with their children.
