The Next Generation Venture Fund is run by staff members at the nations 4 major university talent search programs who are committed to helping academically gifted students from diverse backgrounds achieve their highest potential.

Next Generation Venture Fund (NGVF), a CTD partner


In the role as NGVF Educational Coordinator and Advisor, Dexter Robinson hosts educational workshops, conferences and activities to assist NGVF families with everything from academic programs and extracurricular opportunities to the college admissions process. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in African American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he became one of the founding advisors of the Carolina College Advising Corps, a group that aims to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students entering and completing higher education. Looking to create new ways to assist talented students, Robinson is virtual host on a college preparation web site for middle and high school students. During his free time, he enjoys watching sports and coaching basketball.
