Recommend A Student

Northwestern University's Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS) is designed to identify promising students in grades 3 through 9 and help them develop the self-confidence, exposure and skills they need to have a positive academic experience.

Who Can Recommend Students?
Recommendations are accepted from teachers, counselors, school administrators and parents. These individuals are in the best position to help us identify promising young people who have the greatest potential to benefit from the NUMATS program.

If you have a student/child you would like to recommend, instruct them to indicate your recommendation in the appropriate place on the NUMATS registration.

Who Are We Looking For?
In general, students who are most likely to profit from NUMATS:
  • are currently in grades 3 through 9
  • demonstrate advanced aptitude in verbal or mathematical reasoning
  • consistently perform in the top 10% of their grade
  • perform exceptionally well in academically demanding course work in school
  • seek out more challenging experiences
