Educators

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Saturday Enrichment Program (SEP)! Perhaps you heard about us from a student or parent or received information by mail from Center for Talent Development. Maybe you found us through an Internet search for enrichment opportunities for gifted students. Regardless of how you discovered us, we’re glad you’re here!

We value educator involvement in SEP and invite your participation in any of the following ways:
  • Apply for a job
We are always recruiting instructors with a dedication to the craft and an interest in gifted education. We also hire teaching assistants for select courses and speakers on gifted education topics. Openings exist in all three of our locations – Evanston, Naperville and Gurnee, Illinois – throughout the academic year.
  • Raise awareness of the Saturday Enrichment Program
Contact us to request program brochures for distribution to qualified students or invite us to speak at your school. We appreciate your help in spreading the word about our program.
  • Recommend a student to the program
Applicants seeking your recommendation are instructed to provide you with a description of the course(s) for which they are applying, as well as a recommendation form.
  • Apply best practices for gifted education to your classroom
Center for Talent Development is rich with research and resources for educators who wish to advocate for the gifted community, incorporate best practices for gifted education into their own teaching or simply advance their understanding of gifted students’ needs.

Meet a few SEP Instructors and Teaching Assistants..
Dana, SEP Instructor Dana
Whether teaching algebra or advanced topics in math, Dana strives to create a relaxed and encouraging classroom environment. She likes to incorporate group and individual activities and present new information in multiple ways.

Brian
Brian loves his role as an educator, and he finds Center for Talent Development students to be particularly fun to teach. “I enjoy the exceptional level of curiosity, engagement, and tenacity of learners at the Center for Talent Development,” he says. “I find the diversity of learning styles among these students, combined with their high level of energy and motivation, to be invigorating and inspirational.”

Mirielle, SEP Instructor Mirielle
Given her years of experience - including 8 years at DaVinci Academy in Elgin - in educating young children and knowledge of how to keep them occupied and engaged, Mirielle strives to maintain an organized yet flexible classroom. She knows her students need structure, and yet she also gives them ample opportunities to work in their areas of interest.

Julius, SEP Instructor Julius
Julius is known among Saturday Enrichment Program (SEP) students, parents, teachers and staff alike as one of the program’s most popular teaching assistants. Perhaps that is because they can tell how much he loves his job.
