Welcome to the Center for Talent Development (CTD) Summer Program! Because of CTD’s commitment to the gifted and talented community, we have designed our programs to benefit students and parents alike.


Meet a Few Summer Program Parents

	Jennifer, Leapfrog Parent “We saw several benefits to this program,” Jennifer says. “Our child learned to deal with challenging material and cooperate with others in a way that isn't really possible in the regular classroom. More importantly, she learned that she's not alone. 	Kendall, Apogee Parent In addition to valuing the CTD parent community, Kendall appreciates the CTD staff. “We feel like we have a partnership with CTD,” she says. Staff are always available, she adds, to provide information on how to advocate for gifted services in schools, advise parents on educational decisions and celebrate great test scores. “If we make the effort as a family,” she says, “they will take our hands and guide us through a world of infinite, unbelievable, breathtaking learning environments and experiences. As a Summer Program parent, you can:

Revel in your child’s learning and enjoyment of the Summer Program. The Summer Program provides a singular opportunity for students to be surrounded by smart kids who share common interests. Whether you are the parent of a student completing PreK or grade 12, you’ll delight in your child’s love for learning in the Summer Program.

Attend a Friday Expo! featuring your child’s accomplishments. On the last Friday of each program session, we invite parents to attend an Expo! featuring students’ achievements from the program. Each year, parents tell us they are amazed by what instructors and students accomplish in such a short time.

Benefit from the supportive community formed by Summer Program parents. Whether talking to another parent at the central pick-up location or attending a CTD-sponsored seminar on gifted education topics, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get to know other parents of academically talented children. Parents tell us the information shared and camaraderie experienced as a member of this community is invaluable.

Learn from parent-teacher conferences and CTD resources. Parent-teacher conferences are offered at the end of each session to enable parents, instructors and students to discuss the student’s performance and future academic opportunities. CTD also offers a wealth of gifted education research and resources, so please browse our web site for the answers and guidance you need.
