Commuter Logistics
Leapfrog is a commuter-only program. Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up their children at the required drop-off/pick-up times and at the designated location each day. Leapfrog students participating in the lunch/recess option are responsible for bringing a lunch that does not require refrigeration each day. Students enrolled in the all-day course for students completing grade 3 must also bring a lunch that does not require refrigeration.
Leapfrog Drop-off / Pick-up Times
Lunch/Recess
The lunch/recess option is offered Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at all Leapfrog sites. Students are supervised by teaching assistants as they eat lunch and participate in games and basic recreational activities. Students are escorted between their classes and lunch/recess. Parents must provide a bag lunch that does not require refrigeration or heating. PLEASE NOTE: All Leapfrog sites are peanut/tree nut free. Additionally, due to a special food policy at Solomon Schechter Day School, students enrolled at our Skokie site should bring snacks and lunches that do not contain meat. More information on the lunch/recess option will be included in the Leapfrog acceptance materials.
Students enrolled in both a morning and afternoon course are automatically enrolled in the lunch/recess option at no extra charge. Any student enrolled in a morning course for the half-day program may participate in the 12 noon to 1 p.m. lunch/recess option. Cost for the lunch/recess option is $10 per day. Students who are only participating in an afternoon course are not eligible to participate in the lunch/recess option.
