Center for Talent Development (CTD) aims to ensure that the Summer Program is accessible to all students who wish to attend, regardless of financial circumstances.
All applicants seeking financial aid should consider the following strategies:
Three scholarships provide financial assistance to students enrolling in CTD Summer Program engineering and computer technology courses.
Gary Greenberg Technology for Children Scholarship
Overview: Funds from the Gary Greenberg Technology for Children Scholarship Fund are used to provide full or partial tuition for a student with financial need who enrolls in a computer technology class in Center for Talent Development's (CTD) Summer Program (e.g., Bits & Blocks, AP Computer Science, etc.). Depending upon the funds available, one or more students may receive full or partial scholarships.
Eligibility: Students who meet the academic entrance criteria for the CTD Summer Program, receive acceptance to a CTD Summer Program computer technology course in Apogee, Spectrum or Equinox and demonstrate financial need are qualified to apply.
Application Procedure: Students must write a brief letter indicating they would like to apply for the scholarship and submit it along with their financial aid application form to the CTD Summer Program. Scholarship applicants are also required to submit an essay detailing how the Gary Greenberg Technology for Children scholarship will help them to fulfill their goals, advance their knowledge or education or enable them to complete a special project.
Application Deadline: Applications are due to CTD by May 14, 2012.
Sandra Dennhardt Scholars Program
Overview: The Sandra Dennhardt Scholars program provides full or partial tuition for a student with financial need who enrolls in a computer technology class in the Center for Talent Development Summer Program (e.g., Bits & Blocks, AP Computer Science, etc.). Depending upon the funds available, one or more students may receive full or partial scholarships.
Eligibility: Students who meet the academic entrance criteria for the CTD Summer Program, receive acceptance to a CTD Summer Program computer technology course in Apogee, Spectrum or Equinox and demonstrate financial need are qualified to apply.

Materials Science and Engineering Diversity Scholarship
Overview: The Materials Science and Engineering Diversity Scholarship provides tuition, room and board for students to participating in engineering an design coursework with CTD's Summer Program. One scholarship is available for Spectrum and one scholarship is available for Equinox. Eligible courses include Materials & Engineering Design Honors in Spectrum and Going Small: Engineering and Design Honors in Equinox. Female and minority students are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility: Students who meet the academic criteria for CTD's Summer program, and the prerequisites for the engineering course, are eligible for this scholarship opportunity. Financial need and diversity may also be considered.
Application Procedure: Students must submit a paragraph describing their interest in the course and will be required to submit a short essay about their experience after completing the course.
Application Deadline: May 14, 2012.
Apply for Financial Aid from CTD
CTD offers need-based financial aid awarded as requests are received beginning in January 2012. For students enrolling in computer technology courses, two scholarship opportunities exist (see above). Families are encouraged to apply early as the amount of aid available is limited, and is often exhausted before the May application deadline.
Consider the Payment Plan
A five-month payment plan is available. To apply for the payment plan, you must complete and submit the Payment Plan Application. The payment plan application deadline is the same as your acceptance materials. The fee for using the payment plan is $50. Families that are eligible for financial aid will not be assessed the service charge for using the payment plan.
Reimbursement through a Flexible Spending Account
Parents with Flexible Spending Accounts may be eligible to take advantage of tuition reimbursement (check with your accountant or tax preparer regarding eligibility). Contact us to obtain CTD’s tax identification number and for assistance with paperwork necessary for tuition reimbursement through a Flexible Spending Account.

- The amount of financial aid awarded varies from partial to full tuition, and awards are based on family income and extenuating circumstances (e.g., loss of job, unforeseen medical expenses, etc.). Most families awarded aid have a total household income of less than $50,000.
- Financial aid is awarded for no more than one program and session per child.
- To be considered for financial aid, families must complete the Financial Aid Application. All requested materials (tax information, statement of need, etc.) must be included in the financial aid submission in order for a Financial Aid Application to be considered.
- The amount of financial aid granted and any balance due are reflected on an invoice included in the acceptance materials. Any outstanding balance must be paid by June 8, 2012, unless arrangements have been made with CTD for a payment plan.
