A Commitment to Excellence and Continuous Improvement

The Importance of Accreditation

Accreditation represents educational quality and a commitment to continuous improvement. Center for Talent Development (CTD) takes its mission seriously and has worked hard to achieve and maintain accreditation through multiple accrediting and certification bodies.

North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI)

Cognia SealCTD has been accredited as a Nonpublic-Supplementary school by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) since April 1, 1994. NCA CASI is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and has more than 100 years of experience in improving educational quality. Accreditation is achieved through a rigorous review process conducted through Cognia. Cognia offers accreditation and certification, assessment, professional learning, and improvement services to institutions and other education providers. As a global nonprofit working in over 80 countries, Cognia serves 36,000 institutions, nearly 25 million students, and five million educators every day. To learn more about the accreditation process, visit the Cognia website.

National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

In addition, the CTD Online Program is approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), which enables student athletes to participate in CTD's online courses and earn high school credit. You can visit the NCAA high school portal to see approved courses, just enter our high school code: 851091.

Advanced Placement Course Approval from College Board

In addition to being accredited through Cognia and the NCAA, CTD participates in the College Board Advanced Placement (AP®) course audit process. Any online learning provider that wants to label courses as AP, and appear as an authorized AP course provider, must complete course audits on a regular basis. Eligible AP courses are listed in the College Board's AP Course Ledger. The AP Course Ledger serves as an official record of accredited institutions and their approved courses, which may include the AP designation on transcripts.

Benefits of Accreditation

Accreditation not only means Center for Talent Development adheres to high quality standards; it also means CTD can grant academic credit for the rigorous high school courses we offer through the Online Program, the Saturday Enrichment Program, and the Summer Program. While an individual school’s acceptance of credit from an outside institution depends on the school's or district's policies, a discussion with a school counselor or administrator before beginning a CTD course can answer any questions regarding credit transfer.
