Does your student have an infinity for Greek Mythology? Do they spend countless hours on Minecraft?
Each month, CTD Backpack students lead an online student conference, based on areas of interest voted on in the community. This month, CTD Backpack for Students members have an opportunity to video chat with Dr. Ryan Platte, Associate Professor of Instruction in Classics and Director of Greek Instruction at Northwestern University. Dr. Platte will be on to answer all your student’s questions about Greek mythology and literature. It is an ideal opportunity for anyone with a love for Greek mythology or eager to pursue a career in the literature field.
Mark your calendars. This month’s video conference will take place on Wednesday, December 7 from 5:15-6:15 pm CST.
Following the question and answer portion with Dr. Platte, students will have an opportunity to lead a discussion about Minecraft. This is a great way for students to collaborate on an area of interest with like-minded peers in a safe environment.
To get a glimpse of how the conference is facilitated, our last conference included a conversation with Dr. Michael Peshkin, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University, on robotics and the future of his field.
