Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholars | CTD Programming Introduction

November 10, 2020
6:00pm - 7:00pm CST
Online

Join CTD' manager of community outreach, Tammie Stewart, for an introduction to the Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholars program and opportunities available through Center for Talent Development, including Northwestern University's Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS) and other academic programs. Time will be available for questions and answers from participants.

The Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholars program offers financial and academic support through high school. It is open to applicants in grade 7 who are doing very well in school (A’s and B’s in core subjects) and have some financial need (family income of $95,000 or below). This selective, 5-year, pre-college scholarship provides comprehensive academic and college advising, as well as financial support for high school, Cooke-sponsored summer programs, internships, and other learning enrichment opportunities. These students also are advised to take the out of grade level test (ACT or SAT) offered through the CTD NUMATS program.

Northwestern University's Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS) utilizes above-grade-level assessments to help parents and educators better understand their students’ educational needs. NUMATS allows eligible students to take internationally recognized tests before the grade levels at which they are normally administered. The PSAT 8/9 is offered to students in grades 3-6 and students in grades 6-9 are able to take the SAT or ACT test. NUMATS helps to identify academic ability, measures growth, and connects students to resources and opportunities, such as the JKC Young Scholars Program.

Open to any interested parent or educator. Join us by filling out the registration form!
