Notes About Service Hours and Service-Learning Credit

Direct service hours include hands-on facilitation of projects and activities for community organizations and individuals where students have the opportunity to engage with business, government, and nonprofit leaders, as well as volunteers and clients.

Service-learning credit hours include curriculum activities such as instructor led team-building activities, group discussions and reflection, hearing from guest speakers, and independent course work (including readings, research, writing, and project development).

“I got to experience real world issues and interact with people experiencing those issues. I not only was told about something, but I was also able to experience it.”  – CEP Student
